This rear house extension provides a large kitchen/dining space to be used in conjunction with the outside courtyard. The kitchen was designed to flow from the existing building into the new extension to give continuity to the room and unite old and new. The modern form of the new is separated from the existing house by a roof-light that floods the room with rooflight that acts as a natural break between the two contrasting forms. The new room has a strong connection to the garden with a fully glazed end elevation.
