Structural glazing forms a double-height extension to the basement and ground floor of this house. There is also an internal double height space created by removing a part of the floor and these, together with the open central stairwell, give a continuum of space between all the rooms, allowing free circulation around the entire area.
The resultant space becomes the home’s new focal point – the house and garden work as one and there is a great sense of space and light. Rain is a wonderful experience.
