This Pavilion transforms a typical London back garden into part of a sequence of interconnected internal and external spaces, commencing in the front garden and leading through the existing house to the water garden, Pavilion and Japanese garden beyond. A previously overlooked and underused garden has become an integral part of the family home.

The upturned roof emphasises the dual aspect of the Pavilion. Water in both external gardens reflects light off the underside of the roof into the Pavilion, creating constantly changing patterns of light and shade, throughout the day and the evening.
