The surgery faces onto Camberwell Green and is very much part of the local community. The south orientation is used to give a constantly changing pattern of light and shade within the building during the course of the day. Artificial lighting gives another equally dramatic aspect to the building by night. Passive solar gain reduces heating costs and this was one of the first ???green??? buildings of its generation.

???Eger Architects??? surgery for four doctors is a robust and imaginative building with low maintenance and running costs. It blends sympathetically with its surroundings on the edge of Camberwell Green, and its internal layout is practical and reassuring
for patients.??? Architects??? Journal
